CPR Pro: Covers professional level emergency cardiac care including bag valve mask. Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in the case of an airway obstruction or choking.
CPR Pro course has been approved for training of Emergency Medical Services personnel in most states, is accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) and accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
This course meets the certification requirements for all healthcare professionals in accordance with the Arizona Department of Health Services and national standards.

CPR for the Community or Workplace: Covers adult, child, and infant CPR and choking emergencies for bystanders.
Both CPR programs are based on the most current science and guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and are consistent with other national CPR programs.
First Aid: Properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time, and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary disability and lifelong disability for the victim. Program participants learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information about how to deal with emergencies like shock, burns, strains, strokes and seizures is shared.
CPR for the Community or Workplace and First Aid are nationally accepted programs and were reviewed by and satisfies the requirements of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
Emergency Responder: The Emergency Responder is a person trained in “Advanced First Aid” which is defined as the recognition of and immediate care for injury or sudden illness, including medical emergencies, prior to the availability of medical care by licensed EMS providers or other health care professionals. Emergency Responders may be public safety personnel such as law enforcement officers, security personnel, lifeguards, firefighters, or laypersons such as public works employees or members of corporate medical emergency response teams.
The Emergency Responder Course is designed to provide to provide students with the core knowledge, skills and attitudes to function in the capacity of an Emergency Responder. This course uses the First Responder Refresher Course as its basis and may be used as a prerequisite for a full First Responder course.
The State of Arizona does not currently have a First Responder Certification, but those interested in First Responder (not to be confused with Emergency Responder) can obtain national certification by testing through NREMT.
Hundreds of firefighters, police officers and emergency medical workers gave their lives on September 11 as they worked to save others. President Bush’s 2003 Budget proposes to spend $3.5 billion on enhancing the homeland security response capabilities of America's first responders -- a greater than 10-fold increase in Federal resources.
In addition to military medical and federal law enforcement personnel, Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Civil Support Teams, firefighters, police officers and emergency medical workers, many other individuals in both the public and private sector may function in the capacity of the Emergency Responder, including park rangers, customs agents, professional lifeguards and corporate Medical Emergency Response Teams (MERT) - in general--anyone personally involved in public emergencies.
The benefits of building emergency responder capability are immediate and widespread -- making the nation safer from terrorist attacks while also bolstering everyday response capabilities.
AED: Having personnel on-site that are expertly trained in the use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED) provides the victim with rapid defibrillation access before EMS arrival, greatly increasing the chance of survival. Training includes recognition of unresponsive victims, review of equipment operation and maintenance, discussion of treatment and valuable hands-on practice designed to increase skills. This course covers public access to AEDs and simple instructions for layperson’s use of AEDs.
Water Safety: Provides information essential to preventing injury or drowning as well as techniques for safe rescue. This is an excellent training opportunity for individuals who are not lifeguards but may be occupationally required to manage or assist with an aquatic emergency, such as:
- water exercise instructors
- sailing/scuba/paddling instructors
- day care providers
- personnel at leisure facilities such as health clubs, hotels/condominiums, apartment complexes, or camps OR
- parents who own/live by a pool and have young children.
Childcare & Babysitting Safety (CABS): This program is a community education program that covers child safety and basic care techniques for infants and children. The course provides fundamental information for home childcare workers or babysitters. CABS topics include child safety, play, feeding and emergencies.

Pet CPR/First Aid: This program provides information on caring for dogs and cats as well as guidance about when pets should be taken to the veterinarian for professional care. This training program was reviewed by an American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA®) panel of nationally-renowned veterinarians, veterinary toxicologists, animal behaviorists and animal science specialists and received the ASPCA® Seal of Approval.
